Have we gone too far? These days it feels like we have moved into a state of: if you are offended, you are right. No discussion, no jury, just rally behind the offendee. God forbid that someone should be offended.  But what… what if they are wrong?

Here’s the reality.  Some people aren’t that smart, even though they think they are.  Some people are bad at their job, even when they tell you how good they are at it. And sometimes, they really are assholes, even when people tell you they are honest, transparent people.

So. How about we stop labeling things as sexist, racist, ageist, mean-est and bitch-est.  Sometimes, they are. 100%. I agree. But most times, they aren’t.  And in those times, they are called “accurate descriptions”.

I ask you – why can’t people own their shit-

If you ARE being an idiot (as I have been known to be at time) – own it.  If you say something you shouldn’t have and offended someone, apologize, own it and they won’t forgive you, so be it.

The reality is that being honest offends people and sometimes their only defense of being offended.  But. My belief – your friends forgive, your enemies respect, and everyone in between listens, learns and carries on.  Otherwise. F@&k off.

PS. I’m sorry if I offended you but it doesn’t make you right.
