Mom. I’ve made it. I’ve really made it.

In the world of social media, I’ve had a big week. First, I had a parody Twitter account named after me, mispeled last name and all. And then, the next day, I found out that my website was blocked by a large producer (and now every employee knows which one).

I didn’t really expect to be invited to sit on many boards as a result of my daily musings- the truth hurts and two things you could guarantee if I was on the board would be executive comp paid in 90% equity and board members would have to hold more shares than bloggers. But still, to get blocked is pretty incredible.

Companies like to say we have “an open and honest” culture where they value diversity, free speech, different opinions and encourage an open dialogue to advance issues. If what I was told is true, I’m gonna say the carpet doesn’t match the curtains and that is an alarming state of affairs (fortunately, we have an email subscription!)

What’s next? Firing employees for saying wells are being drilled too tight? That inventory is overstated? That they should shut down rigs and merge to achieve the scale they need to survive? That management is actually not very good at leadership?

Oh. I forgot. That’s already happening. That’s why someone has a DRW parody account on Twitter.
