Life is fragile

If I knew that I was going to die tomorrow, I would like to think today would be a pretty good day.

I would tee off early. We would play banker and I would triple on every par three, regardless of where the ball was going.

I’d head to lunch with all my friends and family and sit at each of the tables, laugh, tell stories and tell them that I loved them.

I’d write a letter to the colleagues and co workers I’ve worked with, learned from and cared for and tell them I appreciated them.

I’d visit the estate planning lawyers and bankers to maximize tax efficiency on death because … estate taxes are ridiculous.

I’d do a happy hour / #hottakeoftheday event where instead of talking about the industry, I would tell the story of how thankful I was that I was fired in 2012, published the book about it and stopped defining myself by my career.

And then we would have a family fire bowl with a few $50 bottles of red wine and go to bed to watch “Love, Actually”.

I hope everyone gets to do something similar.
