Even I get drunk text messages at midnight… from dudes

“You’ve got ran off from every job you’ve ever had. Why you trying to promote your opinion like you’re important? The real influences keep quiet. Not you.” #hotquestionoftheweek

Snap! I’m sure that you aren’t the only person who is thinking that (certainly ESP salesman aren’t loving me right now, either). But no, you aren’t totally correct- I’ve managed to keep some jobs.

I think the real question you asked is: do influencers stay quiet? Trump became “President Trump” because of Twitter. Elections were influenced because of Facebook. My golf group is organized because of Slack.

So- does it scare me that an anonymous Twitter personality and a dude with an alien in his LI profile pic are considered “the voice of reason” in industry right now? No. I think we are simply saying publicly what everyone is talking about privately or worse- getting fired for saying it to management.

But the momentum is growing, and hopefully advancing the discussion on real issues with data and making it more acceptable to tell your boss “we are drilling too tight, fracing too big and spending too much” is helping.

Until that changes, myself and Mr Skilling (Parody) will continue to publicly shame all those that fall out of line.
