And so, I write

The “favorite” comments I receive on posts are something to the effect of “stick to oil and gas, buddy.” Obviously, I offer to refund their subscription in merch and deeply consider their opinion of my topic choice.

But the truth is, I have two children and I am very worried about them. And not only my children, but everyone’s children. And so, when the Covid lockdown came that not only ripped through oil and gas land but sidelined the economy and millions of Americans, I tackled that topic. A lockdown – regardless of potentially hundreds of thousands of older Americans lives saves will burden everyone under 40 for the next few decades. And so I write.

When masks became a thing, I wrote in April, open the economy fully with no restrictions, let consumers and businesses choose and I will happily wear a mask. Instead – we all wear masks and the economy still isn’t open. And so, I write.

When public schools shifted back it’s start date first two weeks and now 2 months, I argued that the risk to children under 19 is 0.00001% and the wealthy among us will start to pull kids from schools, which will have so many ramifications it’s hard to understate. And so, I write.

You don’t have to agree with me. In fact, you can vehemently disagree. But I think things through, I propose solutions and hopefully I challenge everyone to think about their own position as we all try to make the world better for our kids.

And so, will I stick to oil and gas. No. No I won’t.

And so, I write.
