A Christmas Poem

#hottakeoftheday xmas

‘Twas the day before Christmas and all through the house,
everyone was home working, from a spot on the couch.

The work clothes were hung in the closet with care,
in hopes that when needed, there would be room to spare.

The elderly were snuggled all alone in their beds,
while visions of the dotcom bubble danced in their heads.

And Daniel in his ‘kerchief and me in my tunnel,
we had just settled down for a 2020 pummel.

When out of the Fed there arose such a clatter,
my Producer and Lawyer had to check LinkedIn to see what was the matter.

And what to their wondering eyes did appear?
A Saudi, two Democrats and some Canadian beer!

Away to the mailbox I flew in a dash,
tore open the envelope, and got stimulus cash!

With those little old politicians so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment they must all be pricks.

More rapid than the new strain, their tentacles spread,
as they whistled, and shouted, and called them to be fed:

Now, Facebook! Now, Google! Now Apple and SPACs!
On, Tesla! On, Zoom! On, bitcoin and crack.
To the top of the index! To the top of the wall!
Now crash away! Crash away! Crash away Fall!

The best of the season to you and yours. This crazy year is almost over.

I just hope when 2020 turns 21 and starts drinking, things don’t get worse.
