“Data…  the post Mortem on this response will be amongst the richest data set in the world.

The recent Stanford University antibody study now estimates that the fatality rate if infected is likely 0.1 to 0.2 percent, a risk far lower than previous World Health Organization estimates that were 20 to 30 times higher and that motivated isolation policies.

In New York City, an epicenter of the pandemic with more than one-third of all U.S. deaths, the rate of death for people 18 to 45 years old is 0.01 percent, or 11 per 100,000 in the population. On the other hand, people aged 75 and over have a death rate 80 times that. For people under 18 years old, the rate of death is zero per 100,000.

Of all fatal cases in New York state, two-thirds were in patients over 70 years of age; more than 95 percent were over 50 years of age; and about 90 percent of all fatal cases had an underlying illness. Of 6,570 confirmed COVID-19 deaths fully investigated for underlying conditions to date, 6,520, or 99.2 percent, had an underlying illness. If you do not already have an underlying chronic condition, your chances of dying are small, regardless of age. And young adults and children in normal health have almost no risk of any serious illness from COVID-19.”

So, a lot of MLB players are getting Covid.  Shouldn’t this be proof we can reopen the economy?  I mean, come on, a 48 inch waist (in stretchy pants) pitched for over 20 years and had 2 wives… (Bartolo Colon).  If that guy can survive this… can’t everyone? I kid, I kid.  But if there is any sport with athletes and significant testing that represents the “average American”, it’s a baseball player.  I haven’t heard of one of them die.  Or even get really sick.  I mean we announce it like they are dying and after 4 days, they are ready to play a professional sport. For real, with the amount of drinking, drugs, sex and travel they do weekly, this should be the proof Covid is nothing to be scared of for the average American not over 65.  Herpes?  That’s another story…

What is the world coming to?  My son is back in school (yay!) and while appropriately socially distancing to comply with a very very very long list of things he must do to comply, he took a drink of water. While drinking water to hydrate (you die after 3 days without water, you know), a 15 year old girl said “Oh my Lord, don’t you care about other people?” He said: “Is everyone at school 90 years old or diabetic?” She said: “This is a very serious disease.  You should be more afraid.” He said: “What do you think the death rate is?” She said: “20%.” He said: “Subtract 19.5% from that. Have you seen the websites that have the stats, read the CDC estimation of how many undiagnosed factor into that or seen the recent fatalities or hospitalizations?” She said: “You aren’t a Republican, are you? I hate those.” So.  That’s our future.  Some look at data, get educated and have a reasoned point of view.  Others are terrified for no reason, shame you, and then call you names when they are wrong. I really want to click my heels together chanting “There’s no place like home, there’s no place like home.” Please.  Read the source data and make an educated decision.  And stop pretending you care about my health.  Wear a mask for you.  I support it.

I rest my case. Can we end the insanity now? “I have been fighting for six months for a business that took me 12 years to build to reopen,” she explained. “I am a single mom, I have two small children, and I have no income.” Insane policies, no consistency, and those with means are flouting them and circumventing them. Flatten the curve. Accomplished!! The arrogance of leaving businesses to function at unrealistic capacities AND asking for the fed just to print money and destroy the economy for a decade while burdening our kids with debt that is unpayable…. Open the economy already PS. The CDC released its findings that only 6% of deaths (that is 9210) were CAUSED by Covid.  Of the other 175,000, there was an average of 2.6 Comorbidities. Did I mention that 2.7 million Americans die every year?  Yep.  Everyone dies. Still. #hottakeoftheday

Sir/madam

I am happy to provide further information as required but I strongly disagree when you say I violated the user agreement by posting false information.  Below, I provide further details on each of the “offending” posts which support the research, claims and show I did not violate the user agreement.

The first article I shared in April was from Dr. John P. A. Ioannidis, a Greek-American physician-scientist, writer, and Stanford University professor who has made contributions to evidence-based medicine, epidemiology, and clinical research. Ioannidis studies scientific research itself, meta-research primarily in clinical medicine and the social sciences.  He, amongst others, looked at the data from the Diamond Princess to interpolate true fatality rates. Here is a recent article:  https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.05.13.20101253v3

Next.  Here is a picture of Bartolo Colon.

Not to be mean, but this is a professional baseball player.  He is also obese.  The MLB has amongst the highest rate of testing of any group. In the week I posted that, MLB had tested 13,000+ with an infection rate of 13.  Factually – not one baseball player has died and to the best of everything I have researched, none were in the hospital.  So in a closed loop sample, with testing, the infection and fatality rates support my interpolation. Moreover, the picture suggests that baseball players are more representative of the body types and health of an average younger American, as opposed to a hockey player who would be more physically fit.   https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.mlb.com/amp/news/mlb-mlbpa-covid-19-test-results.html

As to the statement about death rates, here are the provisional death counts from the CDC.  Take out “with Covid”, put in “of Covid” and look at the fatality rates as a percentage of overall deaths, as a percentage of population, or anyway you wish.  The data is well published, sources and supports my comment.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm

From the same link, you will find the phrase “Table 3 shows the types of health conditions and contributing causes mentioned in conjunction with deaths involving coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death. The number of deaths with each condition or cause is shown for all deaths and by age groups. For data on comorbidities,  Click here to download.

That’s exactly what I said.  Also, I would be more scared of herpes than Covid.  Fact.

And finally – to the comment about my son.  True story.  Her data was incorrect about a 20% fatality rate and I’m making the point most Americans haven’t done the research on all the data nor know the actual fatality rate and the mortality rates as estimated by the CDC including the untested cases, the Diamond Princess cruise ship and medical articles such as the one I provided from Dr. Ioannidis all support less than 0.5% death rates.

Thank you for referencing what was felt to be offending statements and I hope we can now put the matter to bed with you reinstating my account.

Best,

David

  1. Here was the article I reposted that is referenced to their first comment. It includes links to support the data. https://www.google.com/amp/s/thehill.com/opinion/healthcare/494034-the-data-are-in-stop-the-panic-and-end-the-total-isolation%3famp

Unfortunately if you thing this is about promulgating truth you are at the disadvantage. Look up struggle session to determine what your proper response should have been.

  3. It’s kind of funny if you think about it…. how many times have we seen total bullshit plastered all over facebook and linkedin which amount to “these five things about something will shock you!” Wow… and linkedin is concerned for YOUR accuracy?

  4. None of your comments were offensive or inaccurate. I have seen WAY worse go untouched. But, your thoughts do not fit their narrative, nor the numerous nitwits that complained about you. Good thing is now I can use all that gofundme money I was raising for you to bail you out of jail… I think the 362 individual donations amounted to just enough for me to get a new putter and some Whataburger onion rings…

  5. Careful with the “sir/madam,” you wouldn’t want to offend anyone 😂
